Risk: Global Domination -9/13 11pm PST-
Grab your dice, set your troops, and prepare to conquer the world. This Thursday at 11pm Ill start a match for Risk Global Domination.
Me and this game have some history. Back in 2006 I bought this solely for multiplayer. when I tried it, it was dead on arrival. Thanks to Bobz server, I can now see how this game plays online.
If you would like to join, but cant make it on Thursday, we can adjust a more appropriate day.

I'm willing to play, but let me warn you that you absolutely need to have your PS2 on DMZ for this game. Risk is one of the most unruly games to get working online. You'll need to be patient too, as players connecting to your game can either freeze or will be unable to connect.

DMZ completely exposes your PS2 to the internet, free from the protection of a firewall. A firewall can often block access that is necessary for your PS2 to host or join games online. Putting a computer on a DMZ is not recommended due to security vulnerabilities. Game consoles, however, are perfectly safe on a DMZ, as malicious attacks are directed toward computers.CrustyHobo wrote:What is DMZ?
The first step to implementing DMZ is accessing your router. Are you able to access your router CrustyHobo?

The Risk manual contains a list of ports you can forward, but I would suggest simply putting your PS2 on DMZ. It's less complicated and leaves no stone unturned, so to speak.CrustyHobo wrote:Ive done it before to port foward, although that was a tedious process

Making a static IP address for your ps2 network configuration, then going into your router and setting that IP address on dmz mode will make your ps2 online gaming life a whole lot easier in general. Most ps2 online games require ports to be open to host, some even to join. So if you are dmz on your ps2 you will never run into joining/hosting problems on games unless the other people arent on dmz and that particular game makes it required for them to join you.

What brand of router do you use? There should be an option under your port forwarding or firewall settings for DMZ.
Also, if you need any help setting this up before the game, let me know.
