Disk Doctor/Cleaner

Post by Rapth »

So I was considering getting a Disk Doctor/Cleaner, to clean up my scratched to hell PS2 disks. Just was wondering if anyone knew of a good brand, or could recommend anything. Thanks guys. :P

Yes I know I need to get a Phat PS2, so I can just play from a hard drive, but I can not at this moment, acquire a second PS2.

Just take your discs to Family Video and they will resurface them.

I have an old Game Dr. that I bought before stores started offering disc repair services. I was able to save several of my old games using the Game Dr. and the included supplies. You place the disc on a platter, spray it with a mixture of water and alcohol, run the Game Dr., then buff the circular pattern out. The process is involved, but can be performed multiple times if desired.

This is pretty similar to my Game Dr., if you're curious: http://www.amazon.com/SkipDr-Manual-Dis ... 14084701_1

Before you buy a Skip Dr., do what the others above have suggested: Figure out how many games need to be repaired and how much it would cost if you repaired them at a store.

I do not have a Family Video, and not sure if GameStop does disk repairs. But honestly I would rather not support that company. :P Anyways, GameCrazy used to do them, but they went out of business. I just want something cheap, but effective, and I plan to do it on just about all my used games. Twenty three or so, so three dollars a disk could get costly.
