PS2 Online Gaming

Thought this was relevant because of how rare it is for EA to resurrect a previously shut down online game.

Despite its online services being 'officially' retired by EA on April 13, 2012, for some unknown reason, Burnout Revenge (for Xbox 360)'s online services have been restored (as of the beginning of May 2012). While there is no word on how long it will remain online, EA still lists Burnout Revenge as a previously shut down online game on their Online Service Updates website.

Someone should attempt to connect online with the PS2 version of Burnout Revenge just to see if for some miraculous reason its online mode has been brought back as well.

This may seem ridiculous but some guy posted about burn out revenge being back online on the ps2 this year. I did not believe him at all but this might be worth trying out.

Who owns the game here to test it I wonder.

I will check versions of both regions soon and I will unsubscribe

I'll admit that I'm not sure if you were asking those questions rhetorically, but this sort of thing did already happen for other games. EA terminated the servers for both the Xbox and Playstation 2 versions of Burnout 3: Takedown in autumn of 2007. On January 14th, 2008, the servers were brought back up. Finally, the Burnout 3 servers were taken offline for good on April 15th, 2010. I've also heard that the server(/s) for Medal of Honor: Rising Sun was/were taken offline in early 2007, but was/were brought back up for another 6 months or so, due to popular demand from the fans.

I'm honestly shocked. They are the worst company in America for a reason. Too bad they wont just listen and reactivate account creation for bf2...
