WWE '12, the repackaged continuation of the Smackdown vs. RAW series slated for a 11/22/11 release, will only be releasing on current generation consoles. Looks like 'WWE All Stars' will turn out to be the last WWE wrestling game for PS2 and PSP.

Amazon has a page for the Playstation 2 version of Fifa 12. Granted, the PS2 version might get canceled between now and September 30th. If not, I'll have to eat the crow.

Gamestop has NBA 2k12 listed with a 10/4/2011 release date.

Ever recent system I have seen since PSOne always ends the same way; with yearly sports games and watered down ports. Another disturbing trend is how the graphics manage to get worse instead of better.
So really, the last true PS2 game would probably be Sakura Wars: So Long my Love. I hope some unofficial games still get released for it like the Dreamcast.

Is MLB 2K12 the last one ever? I was looking on game websites and this is the only i see being released anytime soon (march of 2012). I dont know if it will include online but it may because NBA 2K12 did. I think this is finally the end. PS2 classics are being released on PSN for PS3 now as well.

Madden 13 might come, thoguh. But I might get MLB 2k12 or NBA 2k12 just because it's cheaper and I usually don't buy sports games.

I know it might not, but then again.......
They made Madden 09 for the Xbox, which was dead in 08.

ps2 has been dead since the fourth quarter of 2010 (officially)
this year has just been the opportunity for companies to sell off their left over stock and any game released was most likely finished and ready to be released long before it actually was.. but they don't release a game labeled 2012 in 2010
