PS2 Online Gaming

As reported by XChristianX on the facebook group for PS2 Online, you WILL NOT be able to get past the DNAS authentication using your automatic DNS, Openspy DNS or Bobz DNS, which is a great shame

However, titles using Christians DNS (186.34.213.89) are still in operation, so this means access is still CURRENTLY available for Call of Duty 3 and Area 51, and any other games that use his DNS

For people trying to connect, I receive the error code -611 'there was an error in the response from the DNS server'

Sad times for Openspy and Bobz users

Hola chicos, lamento informarles que las DNAS han muerto, ya sea utilizando las DNS Automáticas, Bobz y OpenSpy (Éstas dos últimas tienen solución, como lo hice con la mía).
Para hacerles una explicación breve, han retirado el acceso a éstas de manera "automática", quiere decir que ahora sólo se podrá ingresar utilizando algún servidor DNS que tenga re direccionado el "Hostname" a la "IP del Host" directamente!.
Quiere decir que temporalmente no estarán en funcionamiento las DNS de "OpenSPY" y las de "Bobz", hasta que hagan lo que yo hice; asignar para cada Hostname una IP de forma manual.
No sé si este método será permanente o temporal, ya que si dan de baja las IP de los Hostname, ya no existiría otro método...

Yep, it is down. I just tested with SOCOM Combined Assault and i got DNAS error 611. Let's see how long this method will work.

The IP address of DNAS Server for NTSC-U games is 203.105.78.163

I also got -613 error while tried to connect with PSU.

I am going to contact sony and ask. I will say i am trying to play cod 3 since it was still up

1410 GMT- emailed customer support

"I just went to play call of duty 3 ps2 (pal) online, something that was still officially working last week, but when i try and connect now i get a network error from the sony DNAS server.

The error i get is "Network error -611 there was no response from the dns server"

Is there something wrong at my end or have you guys got an issue or terminated the service? There is still a large community trying to play ps2 games online so i hope this issue is an easy fix.

Please notify people of OpenSPY and Bobz to add these addresses to their DNS servers, in such a way as I did with my DNS server:

Hostname-------------------------->Host IP Address
gate1.us.dnas.playstation.org-->203.105.78.163
gate1.jp.dnas.playstation.org-->203.105.78.162
gate1.eu.dnas.playstation.org-->203.105.78.164

Hostnames are not delivering any data automatically, and that is why it will be done manually in each of the DNS servers that exist.
