Picked this game up recently and found that the game actually has a LAN mode, meaning that it can be played online forever. This is not very surprising considering Eutechnyx's other PS2 online racing titles, Street Racing Syndicate and The Fast and the Furious, also feature a LAN mode. The game currently goes for $4.99 used at GameStop if anyone would like to give it a shot.
