I found this: http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... 2011_.html and it seems to be the new working version for PES6 online on PS2. It is called Fiveserver (PES6J doesnt support PS2 anymore) and has players on PC mainly but you can access it via PS2 and play against PC players. I'd try it but im pretty sure you need a special patch and i obviously dont even have the game (yet;D). Also, in the video tutorial, the FiveServer welcome message says it also supports PES7 (WE2007) but I know nothing about PES7 PS2 or if the server actually does.

Tutorial (use Google Translate): http://www.taringa.net/comunidades/ps2o ... 2011_.html

Just found out that apparently PES6 has these servers redirected, as with the unpatched version, you were supposed to add these lines to your hosts file on PC:

91.203.4.126 pes6gate-ec.winning-eleven.net
94.79.54.208 we9stun.winning-eleven.net
or
91.203.4.126 pes6gate-ec.winning-eleven.net
210.249.144.166 we9stun.winning-eleven.net

Also testing out that hacked version now on my PS2.......

Also, if anyone can get this working with the US version, it's 4 bucks at gamestop now:

Are you sure that info is not for the Windows version of PES 6? The hosts file on a Windows PC is only used to resolve queries made by that same PC. Therefore, the Playstation 2 would have no way of finding the information that you put into the host file.

The only thing that I can think of is that the fix also has the user install some sort of DNS server software on his/her computer, which in turn reads the hosts file, but if that were the case, that program would be very unusual, because all DNS server programs that I know of use different files to store DNS records.

Reason I posted those is:
1. I couldn't find any way other then using unoffical patches to connect to online.
2. Those patches also require you to burn a backup that's DNAS patched.

Those patches probably modify the connections in the game to connect there instead.

Also, AFAIK, PS2 and PC were crossplat.

Yes, or using the Pes6 default without patch.
