I've been using the base logitech headset for years (since 2006) and I've found on games like Star Wars: Battlefront II and SOCOM: Combined Assault the mic quality is actually quite superb. You just have to remember to have your mic plugged in before you turn on your system.

In order to properly host a server on your own computer you need to make sure that the ports 3658 (TCP/UDP), 3659 (TCP/UDP), 3558 (TCP), 4658 (TCP/UDP), 6500 (TCP/UDP), 27900 (TCP), and 29920 (TCP). Combined Assault works too, right? No. But if you want to schedule Combined Assault in a separate thread, feel free ;) Actually, unless something has changed in the last 2 years, players with Combined Assault can play with SOCOM 3 players as long as the map rotation of the rooms includes only SOCOM...
