Re: All GameSpy games on all platforms being shut down on Ma
In theory, someone could patch the games' executable files in order to direct them to Openspy rather than Gamespy. (Sort of like what was done with Sniper Elite.) Alternatively, you edit the hosts file, which is located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc by default, in order to match up the domain n...

Re: Steel Lancer Arena International (SLAI) request...
No, it was not hosted by Gamespy; it was hosted by Konami. However, it might still be possible to bring the game back. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence was brought back online, and the servers were replicated by modifying reverse-engineered Pro Evolution Soccer software code. Both of those games were...

Re: Gamestop's PS2 blowout - All games 75% off!
The Gamestops in my area got rid of all their Playstation 2 games some time ago. Eh, even if any Gamestops nearby my house had any Playstation 2 games, I wouldn't really want to buy them; I don't think I want to financially support such an evil company!

Re: about Metal Gear Online
Unfortunately, it was not hosted by Gamespy. It was hosted using server software made by Konami. Some people have been making attempts to restore functionality, but I don't know how much success they've had: http://www.savemgo.com/forums/index.php ... e0a3aebf58

Re: GameStop plans to Discontinue and Destroy its PS2 Invent
I recently went to a local Gamestop location with a friend, and I didn't see any Playstation 2 games at all, not even in the Gamestop-branded sleeves.

Re: King of Fighters: Maximum Impact available to play onlin
The game servers for all of the PS2 King of Fighters games hosted by KDDI were terminated over a year ago. I'll provide a link with proof if I can find it.

Re: Broken GameSpy Games
You might not even need to modify the dedicated server code to do that. You could edit the hosting computer's hosts file, which is located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc by default, in order to match up SWBFII's domain name to Openspy's IP Address.

Re: Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Account Creation Back Onlin
If using that IP Address as your Primary DNS doesn't work, you could just send a PM with your email address, desired username, and desired password to someone at this site who was able to access the account creation. Then that person could create the account for you.

Re: PS2 Packets for Online Games
Do you mean DNAS? If it were offline by DNS (in that the domain name expired,) getting the game back online would be a simple matter of having Bobz add another entry to his DNS server. If DNAS now rejects Area 51, playing the game online again would be a bit more complicated.
